Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in Delaware?

Yes! Lillio Academy is accepted by the Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) for community-based training. Lillio Academy is currently not recognized as a quality-assured training for Delaware Stars or Bridge Stars programs.


Please Note: All Webinars and Lillio Basic Courses must NOT be submitted to your registry. They do not meet specific learning requirements for the state and will not be accepted if submitted

Sign up for Lillio Academy to complete your professional development hours at your convenience! You can work at your own pace from wherever you want. Once you complete a course, you can download your certificate!

Delaware Childcare Training Requirements:

Staff members, including early childhood or school-age administrators working 25 or more hours per week, are required to:

  • Complete 18 clock hours of training annually 

  • Including at least 2 hours of health or safety training 

Staff members, including early childhood or school-age administrators working less than 25 hours per week, are required to:

  • Complete 9 clock hours of training annually 

  • Including at least 1 hour of health or safety training

A licensee shall ensure staff members complete annual training at least 30 days before the expiration date of the center's license. Training taken during the month the license expires will be counted toward the following year's annual training requirements. A licensee shall ensure a written professional development plan is completed for the early childhood or school-age administrator and each staff member providing direct care to children within three months of hire and updated annually. 

A licensee shall ensure training taken covers a minimum of 3 of the following training topics:

  • Child development

  • Developmental curriculum planning or environment and curriculum

  • Observation and assessment

  • Positive behavior supports or social-emotional development

  • Health, safety, physical activity, and nutrition

  • Family and Community

  • Professionalism

  • Disability non-discrimination, accommodations, or modifications

  • Management and administration.
