Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in Indiana?

Yes! Lillio Academy is an approved organization by the Indiana AEYC, meeting the Pass the Quality (PTQ) requirements. We are currently looking into approving courses on Family Social Services Association Carefinder (FSSA).

Please Note: All Webinars and Lillio Basic Courses must NOT be submitted to your registry. They do not meet specific learning requirements for the state and will not be accepted if submitted.

Sign up for Lillio Academy to complete your professional development hours at your convenience! You can work at your own pace from wherever you want. Once you complete a course, you can download your certificate! 

Indiana Child Care Training Requirements:

In accordance with 470 IAC 3-4.7-35, all providers in the state of Indiana are required to complete 12 hours of training annually. New caregivers should average 1 hour of training per month during the first year of service. 

The director shall receive training in each of the following categories: 

  • Administrative issues

  • Curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices

  • Health, nutrition, sanitation, and safety

Caregivers shall receive training in each of the following categories: 

  • Positive classroom management and discipline

  • Developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum

  • Child development

  • Health, nutrition, sanitation, and safety

Training may include, but is not limited to: 

  • Workshops

  • Formal education

  • Videos

  • Training by consultants

  • Educational programs provided for staff by the director or director-designated training facilitators 

The Indiana Core Knowledge and Competencies, second edition, was adopted by the Indiana Professional Development Network on April 6, 2016. The Indiana Core Knowledge and Competencies identifies what professionals need to know and be able to do when working with infants, children, youth, and their families. It includes a professional development planning tool to help you assess your knowledge and skills and chart a course for your professional development journey.

The document is organized with seven content knowledge areas linked to an Individual Professional Development Planning Tool: 

  • Child and youth growth and development 

  • Health, safety, and nutrition 

  • Observation and assessment 

  • Learning environment and curriculum 

  • Family and community engagement 

  • Leadership and professionalism 

  • Organizational development and administration
