Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in Maryland?

Yes! Lillio Academy is an approved organization by the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care, and the Workforce Advancement Branch as an MSDE-approved training organization. Lillio Academy’s approval numbers are CKO-160909 and CTO-160910. Academy meets the requirements for COMAR 13A.14.08 “Training Approval.”

Please Note: All Webinars and Lillio Basic Courses must NOT be submitted to your registry. They do not meet specific learning requirements for the state and will not be accepted if submitted.

Maryland Child Care Training Requirements:

All directors, employees, operators, providers, and substitutes working in child care homes, large family child care homes, and child care facilities/centers must complete 12 clock hours (1.2 CEUs) of training.

The Maryland Department of Education requires that all childcare providers complete a minimum of 6 out of their 12 required clock hours of continued training in any of the following core knowledge areas:

  • Child Development

  • Curriculum

  • Health, Safety, and Nutrition

  • Special Needs

  • Professionalism

  • Community

Is there funding available for Lillio Academy in Maryland? 

The Maryland Reimbursement Program is designed to assist child care professionals participating in the Maryland Child Care Credential Program at Level Two or higher with the costs of training for professional development.

An application for training reimbursement can be submitted for the following:

  • Approved Core of Knowledge Training (Note: training must be a minimum of 2 clock hours)

  • Pre-Service training

  • Registration at statewide and national childcare conferences

  • Approved College Coursework

During a 12-month period, participants are eligible for up to $400 to pay toward the cost of core knowledge training. The fund is used to reimburse providers for expenses necessary to achieve or maintain compliance with the requirements of COMAR 13A.15. Lillio Academy is an MSDE-approved training organization in compliance with COMAR 13A.14.08. Our training counts towards licensing and accreditation requirements in Maryland, and those eligible may receive full reimbursement for using the platform.
