New Brunswick & Lillio Academy

Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in New Brunswick?

No. Lillio Academy is not accepted in New Brunswick. EECD/EDPE does not approve out-of-province training or trainers at this time. Check back in the future for updates.

You can still sign up for Lillio Academy to grow your knowledge and skills as an early educator, and connect with other educators on shared learning topics.

New Brunswick Child Care Training Requirements:

In accordance with c.30, s.2 of the Early Childhood Services Act, childcare providers who work directly with infants or preschool children are required to complete 10 hours of professional development annually. Professional development training must be approved by the Minister and related to the curriculum used at the designated facility.

In New Brunswick, the director, or one in four staff, needs a one-year ECE certificate. An individual with the one-year ECE Certificate would, in addition, be required to take the New Brunswick 30-hour online curriculum framework training prior to working in a licensed Early Learning and Childcare Facility.

Opening a facility or beginning work in the childcare field:

If you are interested in opening a child care program or working in the child care field, please contact your state licensing agency for the specific requirements, rules, and regulations of your state. The New Brunswick licensing website can be found here.
