Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in Nova Scotia?

Yes! Lillio Academy certificates are accepted by the NS Department of Education & Early Childhood Development and Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC).

Sign up for Lillio Academy to complete your professional development hours at your convenience! You can work at your own pace from wherever you want. Once you complete a course, you can download your certificate!

Nova Scotia Child Care Training Requirements: 

In accordance with Regulation 38 of the Early Learning and Child Act and Regulations, all providers in the province of Nova Scotia are required to complete 30 hours of professional development every three years starting from the date your Level 1 Classification or School Age Approval was issued. In Nova Scotia, two-thirds of all staff must have completed an early childhood education program or equivalent.

  • Behavior guidance

  • Observation and assessment

  • Health, safety, and nutrition

  • Diversity

  • Exceptional Children

  • Professionalism and community resources

  • Foundations of Early Childhood Education
