Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in Oklahoma?

Yes! Lillio Academy courses are considered informal professional development training by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Child Care Services. We are currently pending approval with the Oklahoma Development Registry and the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development to become formally recognized. Please check back for more information in the future

Please Note: All Webinars and Lillio Basic Courses must NOT be submitted to your registry. They do not meet specific learning requirements for the state and will not be accepted if submitted.

Sign up for Lillio Academy to complete your professional development hours at your convenience! You can work at your own pace from wherever you want. Once you complete a course, you can download your certificate! 

Oklahoma Child Care Training Requirements: 

In accordance with 340:110-3-284, providers in the state of Oklahoma who are consider a level 1 on the Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder are required to complete 12 hours of professional development annually. Providers who are a level 2 or higher are required to complete 20 hours of professional development annually. Professional development can be taken formally or informally. No more than 6 clock hours of informal professional development is counted toward annual renewal hours.

  • Formal professional development

    • A course or training event of two or more clock-hours from an OPDR approved training organization

    • OPDR approved college credit hours

  • Informal professional development

    • A course or training event of less than two clock-hours from an OPDR approved training organization

    • Any number of clock-hours from an OPDR non-approved training organization; 

    • Any training from electronic media, such as videos or DVDs

    • Reading and television programs do not count toward required clock-hours 

Prior to or within 12 months of employment, teaching personnel are required to obtain and maintain a current Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder (OPDL) certificate. Within 6 months of employment, teaching personnel must develop an individualized education plan and update the plan annually, maintaining all training documentation. 

Training topics include the following:

  • Child growth and development

  • Health, safety, and nutrition

  • Child observation and assessment

  • Family and community partnerships

  • Learning environments and curriculum

  • Interactions with children

  • Program planning, development, and evaluation

  • Professionalism and leadership
