Québec & Lillio Academy

Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in Québec?

The Ministère de l'Éducation does not approve the use of Lillio Academy as they do not approve out-of-province trainers or training.

You can still sign up for Lillio Academy to grow your knowledge and skills as an early educator, and connect with other educators on shared learning topics.

Québec Child Care Training Requirements:

In Québec, two-thirds of staff in centers for children 0-4 require an ECE diploma or an Attestation (one-year certificate) and three years of experience. Québec requires an approved 45-hour course plus 6 hours of professional development per year for home childcare providers. The province does not have a regulated process for the certification of qualified staff. Staff qualifications are outlined in the licensing requirements for regulated childcare programs.

Opening a facility or beginning work in the childcare field:

If you are interested in opening a child care program or working in the child care field, please contact your state licensing agency for the specific requirements, rules, and regulations of your state. The Québec licensing website can be found here.
