Can I use Lillio Academy for PD hours in Oregon?

Yes! Lillio Academy Certificates are accepted by the Oregon Registry Online as Community Based Training and can count toward college course credits from Steps 1-7 Core Knowledge Competency Levels.

Please Note: All Webinars and Lillio Basic Courses must NOT be submitted to your registry. They do not meet specific learning requirements for the state and will not be accepted if submitted.

Oregon Child Care Training Requirements 

In accordance with 414-300-0120, all providers in the state of Oregon are required to complete 15 hours of professional development annually, of which at least 8 clock hours shall be in child development or early childhood education. An approved planned reading program of professional materials may count for up to 6 hours of the 15 clock hours of training and must include a written assessment of reading materials completed by each participating staff person.

The following core knowledge categories are accepted for the child development and early childhood education requirement: 

  • Diversity 

  • Family and community systems

  • Human growth and development 

  • Health, safety, and nutrition 

  • Learning environments and curriculum

  • Observation and assessment

  • Special needs 

  • Understanding and guiding behavior

A head teacher whose qualifications for the position are based solely on work experience shall emphasize child development and early childhood education training for the first two years of employment. Training may include correspondence courses, conferences, workshops, or audiovisual programs. 

OCC will accept duplicate training one additional time if it is a Set 2 (intermediate) or Set 3 (advanced) training or above as described by the Oregon Center for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education, and it is not taken within the same license period.
