Framework

Location: Iowa

Child care associations promote the education and well-being of children, families, and child care providers.

The Iowa Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC) supports over 1,100 members throughout Iowa. Iowa AEYC aims to improve professional development, leadership, and teaching and learning in order to promote accreditation and excellence in the field of early childhood. Iowa AEYC works to improve public awareness of the importance of the field. Members of Iowa AEYC cover a diverse group, as anyone who wishes to serve and act as a voice for the rights of young children is able to join.

Iowa AEYC believes that the success and education of children increases when they are in an environment that is dedicated to their education and success. In order to create such an environment, Iowa AEYC works to achieve high-quality services and learning opportunities for all children from infancy to eight years of age. In order to achieve and maintain quality, Iowa AEYC works to connect practice with polices as well as research.

Iowa AEYC functions under a set of values shared by all members. Iowa AEYC believes that the field of early education is a unique and specialized unit that holds endless opportunities. As the field is of the utmost importance, professionalism is critical. Those who have a passion for what they do, for the growth of the children as well as themselves, thrive in the field. Collaboration and mutual support is a key aspect in the belief system of Iowa AEYC. Sharing, listening, nurturing, and community building are not simply values of the association, they are foundational blocks of the field of early education.
